At the risk of rumor-mongering, we've assembled a list of the buyers and sale prices for the water rights sold at the GASP* auction last week. (We're the first to admit this list is built on gossip and sketchy media reports. We'll gladly update with better information if anyone
.)
Just an overall observation - most of the water "stayed home". The City of Brighton bought up all of the Burlington/Wellington water, but that water has always been used in and around the city. Likewise, the Parker Water and Sanitation District bought all of the Morgan-Prewitt water but they too are landowners in the northeast corner of the state. Agricultural interests (irrigators and/or augmentation providers) were able to buy up much of the water, indicating that perhaps agriculture still has a pulse in this part of the state.
