Here are some cool online tools for quickly locating a Colorado ditch or reservoir.Image

www.satelliteviews.net has a directory of searchable features, including canals, dams and reservoirs. I'm guessing that the underlying data source is USGS mapping, so if the structure is identified on a USGS map, it's likely to be included in this directory. Once you select the structure or feature by name, a Google Map is presented - which you can zoom in or out as desired. The service is free and appears to be supported by unobtrusive Google ads on the right side of each page.

Similar search services are offered at Brainy Geography and Colorado Guide from Satellite - again using Google Map technology and USGS geographical names.
