DARCA is pleased to announce that John McKenzie has been hired as our Executive Director. John, a founding member of DARCA, has been on the Board of Directors since its inception on November 26, 2001, at Silverthorne, Colorado.

John wants to see DARCA developed into the premier water organization for Ditch and Reservoir Companies in Colorado. Specifically, his goals include: providing timely and needed information to the members, increasing the membership base, and creating more educational opportunities for all.

John is quite familiar with the agricultural and water communities and brings a wealth of experience and talents to his new job. He developed his base of knowledge about Ditch Company issues during his twenty year tenure as both board member and as Executive Director of the Boulder and White Rock Ditch and Reservoir Company.  He has been actively involved with production agriculture for more than 35 years and lives on a farm in Boulder that has been in his family since 1893.

In addition, John does consulting work in applied decision and risk analysis.  For this he travels extensively, both nationally and internationally. Through his company, Innovastat Corporation, he has consulted and trained many individuals and companies in the fields of statistics, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization under uncertainty, and forecasting.

In his spare time, John is completing his Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics at Colorado State University and works for the CSU Sociology Water Lab.
