DARCA will be holding a workshop for directors and officers of Ditch Companies on Friday, May 4, in Mancos, Colorado. The training is a repeat of the highly successful and well attended workshop that DARCA held back in 2003 in Niwot, Colorado. We received nothing but compliments on this workshop, and have been asked by our members about repeating this program for our western-slope colleagues.  Even if you are from other parts of the state, Durango is a beautiful place to visit so plan a pre-irrigation season mini-vacation!

The workshop will cover: the corporate structure of ditch companies; responsibilities and liabilities of board members and officers; bylaws, how to run a meeting; the psychology of decision making; dispute resolution; and negotiation. In addition to the presenters, long time Ditch Company board members will be on-hand to add color commentary and specific examples from their own experience.
