From Headgate to High Country Summer Tour

There's no better way to understand Colorado's water systems than to experience them firsthand.

Join DARCA for a full-day field tour of the Grand Mesa Water Users Association as we explore the people, infrastructure, and innovation behind one of Colorado's most unique water delivery systems. From the Surface Creek valley to the reservoirs atop the Grand Mesa, you'll hear directly from the professionals managing water every day while seeing projects and technology in action.

Throughout the day, participants will learn about water delivery operations, funding and implementing efficiency projects, water visualization and tracking, irrigation and municipal coordination, reservoir operations, water monitoring technology, and wildfire readiness. Along the way, we'll visit active infrastructure including ditch headgates equipped with real-time water sensors and reservoirs that serve communities throughout the region.
