I would like to introduce myself to you as DARCA's Executive Director. I am so excited to be a part of DARCA in this capacity.

Here's a bit about me:

Agriculture has been a major part of my life since the time I was old enough to become involved in raising animals on our farm/ranch operation in Southeast Colorado. Through the farming aspect of the operation, I grew up knowing the importance of agriculture, farmers/ranchers, conserving water, as well as recognizing where water comes from and the valuable resource that it is. I was greatly involved in 4-H and FFA from a very young age, though my agricultural involvement did not stop in high school. I was involved in a small part in Ag Clubs while I was enrolled at Lamar Community College and Colorado State University. I was a part of Agriculture Adventure at CSU, but I was also given the opportunity to volunteer my time gathering data for the Selenium Project through CSU for several years.

My family and I are greatly involved in agriculture to this day with my dad working for the Farm Service Agency and my husband as an engineer with Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District (Lower Ark) who works on agricultural projects that directly benefit not only the Arkansas Basin but the state of Colorado. My goals and dreams for DARCA are big and when I couple that with my drive and determination, we will gain momentum and do great things.

My first interaction with DARCA was during the 2019 Conference when I spoke on behalf of the Colorado FFA Association. Being in attendance at the DARCA conference, I knew there was something different about this organization. The board members, sponsors, and members were all engaged and passionate about the issues and information being presented.

After staying in touch with Amber Weber, I was asked if I wanted to help create a funding guide to support those who were working to improve their overall water use. This project created momentum and drive to improve DARCA communications in a few other avenues.

My goal today is to engage and connect across multiple platforms to advance DARCA's purpose of being that definitive network for all water users. I am proud of my work at DARCA because with every piece of communication we are collaborating around ways to protect water as a natural resource for the growing generations ahead.

I am currently a Junior at Colorado State and will graduate in the spring of 2022 with my degree in Soil and Crop Sciences. I am eager to continue my work with DARCA and find a career that centers around Colorado Water. During my career, I want to help implement solutions that will help us feed a growing population by the year 2050.

My core values are integrity, authenticity, and optimism.
